Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

BOTTOM LINE UP TOP:

News: morningbrew.com/daily/r/?kid=3b53ebb3 It’s a solid broad look at current events, without a bunch of filler.

Constant improvement in life.

SELF:

I like 30 day challenges to continually make my life move in a positive direction.  This 30 day Challenge consists of the Wim Hof Method breathing, Baron Baptiste yoga, and a workout of the day that is high intensity interval training (HIIT) under 10 mins.

What I’m reading:

Journey into Power by Baron Baptiste

4 hour work week by Tim Ferris

Bible 1 chapter a day

FAMILY/TEAM:

QUARANTINED KIDS:  I’m not sure if you are like me but I have never had to do home schooling and play teacher before.  For those of you that have, congrats, and I would appreciate any help from you. With our home, my wife helps to keep a nice balance between too far military style and reasonable.

First I will cover the at-home schedule and I will cover how we came up with it.  Disclaimer, the schools came out with a similar schedule the other day so nothing new.

Schedule Monday – Friday

0700 reveille and morning team huddle.  We go around and say what we are grateful for, your intention for the day, then we journal about it.  This helps to get everybody into a positive mindset.

0800-0845 breakfast the kitchen is open

0845 – 0915 1st period

0915 – 0945 2nd period

0945 – 1015 snack/walk/break

1015 – 1045 3rd period

1045 – 1115 4th period

1115 – 1200 Lunch break

1200 – 1230 5th period

1230 – 1300 6th period

A separate list is the special duties, for our kids they have chores twice a week, sports that they need to stay up on (football, gymnastics, skateboarding, etc) recreational time.

Let the kids participate in this as much as possible, they learn the art of compromising 😉 At the end of the day the parents know best.  The kids laid out their schedules and how they felt it should work. We (my wife and I) took their schedules and narrowed it down to a pretty nice compromise and all sides were in agreeance.

The most important part of anybody in a quarantine or on a deployment is keeping the PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) high.  We will all have the ups and downs, but we are in control of this. This is the reason for exercise and healthy nutrition throughout the day.  This keeps the endorphins running and all the other good chemicals naturally released in the body through activity. It also gives you a boost of confidence that you are doing what is right for yourself.

Zig, Zig, Zag

In our home we try to keep the zig zig zag going throughout our life.

Zig = healthy choices in eating, nutrition, fitness.  Honestly this is when you feel the best.

Zag = The theater is open and you can have a little taste of the sinful foods 🙂

I set up the ZAG Theater typically at the end of the week.  The menu can change but everything on the menu costs a physical exercise.  Here’s an example…

Welcome to the Zag Theater

Ginger Ale = 20 Mountain Climbers

La Croix = 20 Mountain Climbers

Samoa’s = 10 crunches per cookie

Popcorn = 20 Jumping jacks per small bag

Nacho’s = 20 push-ups for small plate

Ice cream per scoop = 5 Burpees

Zag Krispy = 5 Pull-ups

How to teach your kids that constant improvement is a good idea…

Every week choose a subject that is normally not taught in schools.  Example is everything that deals with a vehicle. Now I’m no mechanic so this is just the basics.

I went outside today and my jeep wouldn’t start from sitting and not being used for over a week, the battery died.  This was an awesome opportunity to have the kids learn how to jump start a vehicle. The oldest got a little driving lesson as well.

Next will be how to change a tire on any vehicle.  I only do one thing a week or else they think I’m lecturing.

BASE/HOME:

I went through the inventory on the home food supply, gun and ammo supply, fuel source for vehicles.  I keep all vehicles topped off with fuel and ensure they are all working and fluids are good to go. This happens every week typically on Thursday and still yet to have the family join in on this, but will get there.

Security system; do your locks work, locks on the gates, security cameras, alarm system.

Wim Hof Breathing Method:

I can’t find anything anywhere with side effects from breathing.  Starting out my day with 3-6 rounds of the WHM breathing exercises, will armor your immune system and set the connection between your heart and mind.  I like to think of this as my radio check before heading out on any mission you insure your communication is up and running.

Baron Baptiste yoga practice:

This is my favorite yoga practice lately.  I enjoy the faster moving more intense style in anything.  Maybe it’s just my nature. But either way any sort of yoga practice is an essential piece to feeling your best.  The biggest lesson you can take from yoga; we are all on our own journey. Be kind to yourself and allow for mistakes, it is perfect the way you are doing it.  Even 5 mins of yoga practice is better than none, I have modifications for everything.  Everybody can do this.

Metal Detox Smoothie:

“This smoothie is not only delicious, it’s also perfectly designed to include five key ingredients that work together in synergy to pull heavy metals like mercury, lead, aluminum, nickel, copper, and cadmium out of your organs where they accumulate”. -Anthony Williams

Ingredients:

Half a banana

½ cup wild blueberries

¼ cup cilantro

½ cup orange juice

½ tsp barley grass juice powder

½ tsp spirulina

Pinch of Atlantic Dulse

Water with lemon:

This helps to activate the water and alkalize your body.

Thoughts, affirmations, motivations, ambitions, etc. etc. etc.

In search of my passion, purpose, and really what I need to do to not have to do what I don’t want to do!  That is the ultimate in my eyes.

Everything is figureoutable.

Don’t procrastinate; do what needs to be done today tomorrow is never a guarantee.
